Women and marginalized leaders face a "double bind:" to be seen as competent, they must adopt assertive, masculine traits, yet to be likable, they must embrace communal, feminine traits. Balancing these conflicting expectations is challenging. Failing to meet either standard can lead to resistance. This dilemma stems from deeply ingrained societal norms.
